Our Founding Story Dr. Michael Babor was an innovative biochemist who was the first to use hydrophilic oils in cosmetic skincare products in the 50s. He revolutionized the cosmetic business by using the natural cleansing properties of oil and water, which were unknown until that date. The so-called HY-ÖL became a huge success and was later patented. Dr. Michael Babor was convinced of the medical effectiveness of natural active ingredients. To continue his research, he founded BABOR in 1956. Since then, we are still dedicated to his philosophy and are still refining his ideas today of clean, safe, high-performance professional skincare.
